About ECW

East Coast Waterfowl was founded on November 14th, 2013, in Willow Springs, a small town in Central North Carolina. I am the owner, Kent Jones! I created an Instagram page on that same date and dedicated it to sharing the adventures of myself and my friends while waterfowl hunting. Within one year of managing the Instagram page, it gained over 10k followers! During my first year, I added my first ten pro-staff members, friends of mine who shared my passion for waterfowl hunting and conservation of waterfowl habitats.

During that initial year, I designed a logo and began making hats and shirts for my friends and family to wear. I never imagined it would grow beyond that! I started featuring my hats and shirts in the pictures I shared. When followers began noticing them, some wanted to buy their own. So, I began taking orders through email. Around two months later, I created a simple website to sell them online at an affordable price. That's when my business really began to take off!

In the following year, I introduced several new colors and designs for hats and shirts! While helping my grandpa clear out his old junk in his house, I stumbled upon a vintage hat with a wood duck on it. Inspired by its design, I sent a picture of it to my embroidery company and asked them to replicate it. A month later, the Woodie Snap Back was born! Encouraged by its success, I began creating more duck-themed hats and patches. Now, I offer over 40 unique hat styles for everyone to enjoy!

As my social media following grew, I felt a strong desire to give back to the ducks and geese. So, my team of pro-staff and I decided to organize a clean-up day at our nearby public hunting grounds! Together, we worked hard to remove trash left by hunters and installed new wood duck boxes to provide shelter for the local birds. This initiative was so rewarding that we now make it an annual event at popular hunting areas. Our goal is to inspire others to not only hunt responsibly but also to give back to the ducks by contributing to their habitat and well-being!

On my social media, you'll find pictures of hunters of all skill levels hunting! During hunting season, I receive tons of pictures from people on Instagram showcasing their hunts while wearing our gear. While I try to share as many as I can, I can't post them all. I focus on sharing pictures of hunters who put in the effort, whether they shoot one limit or ten!

My goal is to highlight that the East Coast has good duck hunting, even though it might not be as renowned as the Mississippi Flyway. We make the most of what we have! But more than just showcasing hunting success, I want to show that hunting is really about enjoying the outdoors and spending time with good friends. It's not just about shooting ducks; it's about the memories that come with it!

At East Coast Waterfowl, the goal is simple: we want people to have a blast while duck hunting and look great while doing it!

Kent Jones - Owner of East Coast Waterfowl

Kent Jones - owner of East Coast WaterfowlI grew up in a small town called Willow Springs. It's located in Central North Carolina, just South of Raleigh. I started duck hunting at the age of 10. Although my dad often took me deer hunting, it was the occasional trips to duck hunting that truly captured my excitement. It took me two years to kill my first duck, a  stud drake wood duck. From then on, I was hooked. My dad continued to take me all the way up until I could drive myself.

Once I could drive, that's what I did every chance I got. My family came from a farming background, so we owned a lot of land and it had plenty of swamps and ponds to shoot ducks in. As time we went on, I started to hunt with the same group of guys and eventually we wanted to try out the coast. To say the least, we were disappointed BUT when it was good it was awesome! That’s just the way hunting goes. Enjoy the times you have with the people you care about!
